Austin, Texas, Bankruptcy Law Attorney

Bankruptcy is a legal proceeding in which an individual who cannot pay his or her bills can get a fresh financial start. The right to file for bankruptcy is provided by federal law, and all bankruptcy cases are handled in federal court. (see Texas Court Directory). Filing for bankruptcy immediately stops all of your creditors from seeking to collect debts from you, at least until your debts are sorted out according to the law.

Take action now to seek the fresh start you deserve by calling 512-879-9171 for a free consultation with an experienced bankruptcy attorney.

At the law office of Susan G. Taylor, I offer experienced and strategic advocacy to help my clients seek debt relief through bankruptcy protection and its alternatives. At every stage, I will help you explore your rights and options to devise a cohesive and long-term debt relief solution for your family. Please follow the links to learn more about my practice:

  • Chapter 7: Chapter 7 bankruptcy or liquidation bankruptcy allows you to eliminate all unsecured debt, including judgments, credit card debt and medical bills. To qualify you must pass the Means Test. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy allows you to stop creditors from wage garnishment and the collection of judgments. I can help you assess your debts, assets and income to determine if Chapter 7 is right for you.
  • Chapter 13: Chapter 13 bankruptcy is a viable option if you are seeking to restructure or reorganize debt while protecting secured assets, such as a home or car. Like Chapter 7, it will prevent the repossession of property and stop creditor harassment. If you do not qualify for Chapter 7, Chapter 13 may still be an option for you.
